NDDB Dairy Services (NDS) is a wholly-owned, not-for-profit subsidiary of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), registered under Section 8 of the Companies Act. It serves as the delivery arm for field operations aimed at promoting Producer Organisations (Farmer Producer Organisations or FPOs) that operate on principles similar to cooperatives. NDS focuses on Productivity Enhancement Services, including the supply of high-genetic-merit semen doses, animal nutrition products, and live animals under the brand SAG. It also provides Artificial Insemination Delivery Services and Embryo Transplant Services.
NDS has facilitated market linkage to over 10 lakh small and marginal farmers across 155 districts covering 24,166 villages nationwide. Through the incorporation of 22 Milk Producer Organizations (MPOs), it collects 47 lakh liters of milk per day. These MPOs are distributed across various states – 8 of these are in Uttar Pradesh, 4 in Rajasthan, 1 in Punjab, 1 in Haryana, 2 in Bihar, 1 in West Bengal, 1 in Gujarat, 1 in Maharashtra, 2 in Madhya Pradesh and 1 in Andhra Pradesh.
