National Cooperative Organics Limited

The Ministry of Cooperation has established National Cooperative Organics Ltd (NCOL) under the Multi-State Cooperative Societies (MSCS) Act, 2002 with National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) as its Chief Promoter. 

The other promoters of repute include National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC), National Cooperative Consumers’ Federation of India Ltd (NCCF), Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd (GCMMF-AMUL) and National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd (NAFED).

NCOL will help India realise its potential to become a global leader in organic products under the vision and mission of Local to Global. NDDB as chief promoter will support farmers in adopting organic farming. 

NCOL will undertake and promote aggregation, branding & marketing of organic products produced by cooperatives by facilitating various activities besides creation of knowledge repository, research & development. NCOL has an initial paid-up share capital of Rs.100 crore and an authorised share capital of Rs.500 crore.

NCOL will aim to provide organic farmers and producer organisations direct access to the market. The organisation will promote professional and democratic management processes to achieve socio-economic progress of its members. In order to achieve Sahakar se Samriddhi, it will operate in accordance with the cooperative ideals of self-help and mutual aid. 

NCOL will coordinate with all relevant Ministries for leveraging various Govt. Schemes. It will also provide assistance to cooperative sector and associated companies producing organic products in the areas of financing, building capacity, technical guidance, constructing and maintaining market intelligence systems, etc. 

Bharatiya Beej Sahakari Samiti Limited

Bharatiya Beej Sahakari Samiti Limited (BBSSL) is registered under the Multi State Cooperative Societies Act 2002. BBSSL is jointly promoted by Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Limited (IFFCO), Krishak Bharati Cooperative Limited (KRIBHCO), National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Limited (NAFED), National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) and National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) as promoter members. Among them, KRIBHCO is the Chief Promoter. BBSSL has an initial paid-up share capital of Rs.250 crore and an authorised share capital of Rs.500 crore.

The vision of the society is to act as a National level Apex Organisation for producing, processing, storage, marketing, branding, labelling, distribution and research and development of quality seeds produced by the cooperatives/other entities and to offer better prices to farmers as well as other stakeholders leading to the realisation of Sahakar se Samriddhi.

BBSSL will develop participatory plant breeding approach for all the class of seeds through the members of cooperatives and make efforts to engage them for achieving desired Seed Replacement Rate (SRR) and Varietal Replacement Rate (VRR) by providing proper institutional support.

BBSSL is authorised to produce seeds and undertake all the good quality seed related activities across its supply chain. The society will take active support from relevant Ministries and institutions like the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and National Seed Corporation (NSC) through their schemes and agencies.
