Nagaland State Dairy Cooperative Federation Limited
Larie, Kohima – 797001, Nagaland
Shri Vikeyie Kenya is the Chairman of the Nagaland State Dairy Cooperative Federation Ltd., a pioneering institution spearheading the cooperative dairy movement in the northeastern region of India. Under his leadership, the Federation has worked actively to improve milk procurement, rural livelihoods, and cooperative development in one of India’s most geographically and logistically challenging terrains.
A strong advocate for rural self-reliance and cooperative governance, Shri Kenya’s work aligns with the broader vision of the National Dairy Development Board to empower farmers and improve socio-economic conditions through sustainable dairy practices. His tenure has been marked by an emphasis on strengthening local milk producer groups, encouraging women’s participation in dairy cooperatives, and establishing reliable market linkages for rural producers.
Recognizing the unique cultural and ecological landscape of Nagaland, Shri Kenya has consistently supported initiatives that are community-centric, environmentally conscious, and focused on tribal empowerment. His leadership has contributed to improving dairy infrastructure in the state — including bulk milk chilling units, veterinary services, and extension training programs.
In addition to his role in the dairy sector, Shri Kenya has remained engaged in grassroots development efforts, promoting cooperative values, and ensuring that policies are inclusive of marginalized rural communities. His contribution is critical in integrating the northeast’s dairy ecosystem with the national dairy network.
As a member of the NDDB Board of Directors, he brings the voice and aspirations of the northeastern hill states into the national dialogue on dairy development, helping shape policies that are both inclusive and regionally balanced.
