Training and extension are one of the core activities of the Group. Aware of the fact that proper awareness creation is pivotal in achieving progress in dairying, NDDB has developed various types of extension material namely, Handbook of good dairy husbandry practices, Ethnoveterinary medicine (EVM) booklets, posters and videos, Understanding your bovine booklet, awareness videos on vaccination, deworming, mastitis control and calf care etc, in all major vernaculars to reach the last mile farmer. All the extension materials have been uploaded on the NDDB’s Dairy Knowledge portal and YouTube channel (>360 videos).

The Animal Health Group consistently seeks cost-effective and innovative solutions for bovine management aimed at maximizing production. We are in the process of promoting the concept of "Hoof Management," which has been largely overlooked in our country. This neglect not only leads to lameness but also heightens the risk of mastitis and metritis. Animals suffering from hoof issues endure ongoing pain and stress, presenting a significant animal welfare concern. Initially, practical training sessions have been organized for veterinarians and para-veterinarians, facilitated by both national and international experts.
