To promote sustainable practices in dairying, NDDB has established an innovative demonstration unit where:
Cow dung is processed in a flexi biogas plant, generating renewable electricity for farm operations.
The digested slurry is efficiently utilized—solids are converted into organic fertilizer for fodder and hay production, while the liquid is recycled.
The model integrates scientific fodder cultivation and TMR feeding, ensuring a nutritionally balanced diet for cows and reducing enteric methane emissions.
This model promotes a circular dairy economy and serves as a learning hub for farmers, milk unions, and stakeholders, reinforcing NDDB’s commitment to sustainability.
